Speaker Bios
Tanis Steward
Tanis Steward is an experienced leader in the healthcare industry, committed to sparking and sustaining conversations which will lead to breakthroughs in healthcare delivery and outcomes. In 2009 she co-founded Sosido Networks, a professional knowledge aggregation and collaboration platform for healthcare associations and their members. In May 2013 Sosido was bought by LX Ventures, a publicly traded company that acquires and accelerates high growth technology companies. Prior to founding Sosido, Tanis was CEO of association management company Malachite Management, where she worked with dozens of national and international healthcare associations. Tanis has BComm and LLB degrees from the University of British Columbia, and started her career as a lawyer with Vancouver firm Davis & Company.
Richard Osborn
Richard is the Managing Partner of RecapHealth Ventures. Prior to founding RecapHealth, Richard was a partner with Second City Capital Partners, a mid market private equity fund focused on multi-sector opportunities, Managing Partner of Greenstone Venture Partners, an institutionally backed venture capital fund he co-founded and Investment Manager for two venture capital funds affiliated with the Business Development Back of Canada. Richard has led seed and early stage investments in companies across Canada, the Western U.S. and Europe. Richard is a frequent speaker on private equity and finance and has been named as one of Vancouver's Top 40 under 40. He is also a founder of BC Technology Social Venture Partners (www.bctsvp.com (http://www.bctsvp.com/)), a group comprised of leaders from the B.C. business community that make investments into local non profits. Richard holds business degrees from University of British Columbia and Queen's University.
