Healthy Cooking and what it means to me. Upfront, you should know I am a Pampered Chef Consultant. However, this group will not be focused on SALES. I disclose my status to you because I believe in my products and the liberty they have given me in the kitchen. Without the right tools, cooking can be a chore or a hassle. I like the innovation of easy.
First, a bit about me. I am just like many of you. An Overworked, Under socialized, Mom of 2 Great kids, and Wife to the best Husband ever. I grew up in the days where food was a comfort and we cleaned our plates. Family gatherings always involved food, in fact, that is how we showed love. We poured ourselves over large meals. As an adult, I embraced these methods. Traditional Cooking, full of fat, calories, and lots of over indulgence. Full Flavor Creams, Sauces, and Savory Dishes that my husband dubbed as, “Heart Attack on a Plate.” Until recently, I had absolutely no intentions of changing.
Of course with that type of lifestyle and mission; we ate well; over indulged; and bulged. This past year; I had to face some hard facts. I was causing my family to be very unhealthy. I started making small changes; seeing great effects; and that has led me to my new lifestyle. I am by no means a Guru. I am learning this as I go.
This is where you come in. Would you like to learn with me? The Vision for this Group is for us to be able to socialize and share our love of FOOD. It’s no secret; I have an ongoing love affair with FOOD. It is a passion I am happy to share. And what better way to meet people who share the same passion?
Healthy cooking is exactly what it sounds like. Healthy! However, this is no easy feat. I have taught my loved ones to adore food the way I do. So if it is not high quality; tastes better then the frozen variety fare; it does not matter what my personal goals are; WE WILL NOT EAT IT. Our healthy food has to be more then just healthy, it must be SATISFYING!
The Vision for this group will be a journey of exploring Healthy food; we will embark in Healthy cooking classes; Pot-Lucks; Dining Options; Festivals; Events; ETC. I hope you will join me and let’s make Healthy Cooking AND Living our daily mantra.
