Recent economic times have caused many to take drastic measures in their stock portfolio. After the drop in 2008, many have decided to move out of investing in the stock market. At the opposite end, after dramatic increases from March '09, many have become overly optimistic and are fully invested without proper risk management. We believe these actions can lead to dire consequences to fullfilling a rich, satisfying retirement.
This group is for serious investors at any level. We would like to educate our members about the current economic environment so that they could implement value investing strategies for proper retirement planning.
Our meetups will consist of concepts including but not limited to. . .
- Thinking like a business owner
- Managing uncertainty
- Understanding key investment variables
- Valuing investments
- Quantifying profit/loss potential
- The shortcomings of diversification and "buy-and-hold"
- Developing a contrarian viewpoint
We are confident that our members will find these concepts insightful and beneficial to any financial situation.
