This hike is a two part hike. The first half will be at Raven Cliffs Falls which are reached by the Raven Cliffs Trail that follows Dodd Creek to the falls. The trail, which is about 2.5 miles in length, is relatively easy to hike until near the end. From 2,040 feet (620 m) at the trailhead near Bear Den Creek the path slopes gently upward to 2,600 feet (790 m) at the base of the falls. Blue blazes mark the trail, which is easy to follow. The 100-foot falls cuts through a cliff face. The parking for the trailhead is located on GA 348 about We will then head back to the cars and travel 2.7 miles down GA 348, the Richard B. Russell Scenic Byway, to the parking area for Dukes Creek Falls. The hike from here is 1.1 miles all downhill to the large double waterfall. There is the smaller lower Dodd Creek Falls at 35 feet & the huge 300-foot Dukes Creek Falls. It is then a climb back out of the base of the falls. Remember there is a $3 day use fee. The Raven Cliffs Falls hike should take around three hours and Dukes Creek between 1 to two hours and in total between four and five hours. As for weather if there is heavy rain or thunderstorms in the forecast the hike will be cancelled. In case of shower this hike will go forward, so you will need to bring rain gear.
