Hike to the Hollywood Sign

Let's take a hike in Griffith Park!

The Mt. Lee trail is mostly paved and takes you to the back of the Hollywood sign for a spectacular view of surrounding areas. This was the trail we intended to do the last time, but ended up hiking 8-9 miles and had a great time. We'll set out to do the 3 mile trail this time, but if part of the group wants to take a more challenging trail they're welcome to do that. (Be aware that the trails are not well marked and the maps are not very helpful.)

Meet at the Picnic Tables: Go all the way up until Observatory Road deadends and park as far up as you can. Meet at the picnic tables between the restrooms and the Observatory.

Trail Length: at least 3 miles

Elevation Change: at least 600 ft

Bring: Snacks, water and sunscreen or hat. There is NO SHADE on this trail.

Directions: Address is 2800 East Observatory Avenue, Los Angeles. Use your navigation system or mapping tool (Google maps not recommended) to find directions from your location.

Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
