Longwood Gardens is a stunning (manicured) garden up near Philadelphia. Every year they have a giant Christmas display, which I'm sure will be spectacular. More details (dates, times, etc.) will follow, but I figured I'd give a heads up, and let people tentatively RSVP if they were interested. There is an admission fee... I think it's $18 or so.
Tickets must be bought in advance, and they are timed -- I'm purchasing tickets for 2pm admission. I request that everyone buy their own tickets -- I understand that peoples lives are hectic and plans change; I don't want to get stuck with a handful of tickets if folks don't show up.
My plan is to enter at 2p. This is supposed to be just a hair before the rush begins, and it will give us time to wander around the gardens a bit in daylight (sunset is 4:45-ish). There are no tripods allowed during the Christmas display (something about a trip hazard -- go figure :) )
You'll be able to find me due to the obnoxiously hunter-orange hat that I'll be wearing somewhere near the ticket counter. Plus, I'll send out my cell phone number closer to the event.
Some folks have asked questions about carpooling. It sounds like a great idea -- if you're interested, post a comment below. I won't be able to carpool as I'm spending the rest of the weekend with my parents.
Hope to see everyone there.
