I: Granite Mtn #2 (5633') - Join us on an adventure in Anza Borrego to climb Granite Mountain #2. We will head out at a moderate pace for a cross-country 6.5 mile RT/3200' stroll, following HPS Route #3. This hike will be entirely off trail, over beautiful desert terrain that is quite pleasant in these cooler months. Come prepared for a full days hike with your 10 essentials, lug sole shoes, water and snacks/lunch, and layers. For details, contact kmlindbergh@gmail.com . The trailhead is located at coordinates 33.0472705, -116.4348543. You can use google maps with the coordinates to get good driving directions, or you can use HPS guide's handy directions:

Take I-15 south to Temecula.Go southeast on SR 79 to Warner Springs.

Continue 3 miles on SR 79 to the intersection with S2 on the left. Turn left.

Go southeast on S2 about 17 miles to SR 78 (Scissors Crossing).

Jog 1/3 mile west on SR 78 (right) and continue on S2 for 4.5 miles, to mile marker 21.5.

Turn right (west) onto a dirt road, and drive 1.1 miles to its end. Park.
