Hike, picnic and see a play

Details
Join this cultural outing. We will do a five miles hike in Topanga State Park and then drive up the road for an evening picnic followed by a play in the Theatricum Botanicum, a wonderful outdoors theater in a beautiful wooded canyon. The Play this night will be Green Grow The Lilacs. Purchase your own lower tier tickets. Seats are not assigned so we will be able to sit together. This is a great Los Angeles summer experience. Here is more abotu the play.
“Jubilant!” – Brooks Atkinson, The New York Times
Oklahoma native Lynn Riggs infused his 1931 hit play with a perfect mix of drama, romance and America’s most popular folk music. Cowhand Curly McLain vies with an evil farmharnd for the affection of Laurey, a farm girl – only to find himself arrested for murder on their wedding night. Rugged cowboy balleds and genuine folk music enhance the tale, making this a more authentic “folk drama” than the mega-musical it spawned, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!
