West Tiger 2 via the Section Line Trail

Let's do a nice medium-length Tiger Mountain workout route: Nook Trail to Section Line Trail to West Tiger RR Grade to Seattle View Trail to West Tiger 2 to Tiger Mountain Trail (TMT) to K3 Trail to TMT back to the parking lot.  Along the way, we'll do a short side-trip to the Talus Rocks boulder caves.

Hiking conditioning required for this hike:  This up-route is steeper than most other trails.  To sign up for this hike, you must be doing hikes of 6+ miles and 2500+ feet vertical gain on a regular basis, or equivalent aerobic activity such as long-distance cycling or running.

When signing up, please answer the sign-up questions as best you can.  Your answers and the info in your profile need to demonstrate the required hiking conditioning and experience.

Mandatory and Recommended Equipment:

Mandatory:  Sturdy hiking boots, warm mittens/gloves, warm hat, layered cool and warm clothes, water and snacks.

Recommended:  Traction devices (Microspikes or Yak-Trax) are recommended for this hike but not mandatory. We may encounter some snow or ice. (Microspikes are more rugged, easier to put on, bite deeper on ice, and the preference of most experienced winter hikers. If you purchase Yak-Trax, the Yak-Trax Pro is recommended; the standard Yak-Trax tend to break.)

RSVP, Carpooling and Driving Directions:

This hike is cross-posted. The RSVP sizes may be re-adjusted depending on the sign-up distribution.

There is no pre-planned carpooling for this hiking.  If you want to carpool, please arrange it through the RSVP comments.

We are meeting at the large trailhead parking lot.  We are not meeting at the gate where the frontage road turns to dirt.  Continue through the gate to the parking lot.  Don't forget your Discovery Pass; the exorbitant fine for not displaying one is $99 :(.
