DEPARTURE TIME: 8:05AM

ABOUT THE HIKE

We start out on a trail that has beautiful houses on one side and the Santiago Creek on the other side. After about 10 minutes, we enter the park trail and travel on shaded and sunny trails. Most of the trails will be on flat land, with the exception of the Windes nature trail loop (short) and Grasshopper (down Oak). Both provide great views from different angles. Then it's back out on shady trails and back to the creek. Hike will be medium pace, slower uphill with the ability to occasionally stop to take pictures. Plan on 4 to 5 miles and for 2 hours. Terrain can be uneven so shoes with good traction are recommended. Note: Rain on event day or even the day prior may close the park. Should park be closed, event will be canceled promptly. Please email host if you need additional information on meet.

DIRECTIONS:

From Serrano Ave. in Orange, go south on Orange Park Blvd. After 0.3 miles, the street curves at the end and becomes Mabury Ave. Make a u-turn right after the curve to park along the fence. For your GPS or internet map program - use the closest house address of 6531 E. Mabury Ave., Orange. We will meet in front of the opening in the brown fence area across the street from the house listed.

NECESSITIES: Adequate water (1 to 3 liters), hat, sunscreen, snack, layered clothing to adjust to climate change. Optional: Trekking Poles, camera, binoculars.
