Duration : 1.5 to 2 hours for about 1-3 miles (flat, no elevation gain)

Levels : this is an easy pace, relax slow walk for everyone: family with children, slow beginners, photos taking lovers...we'll take our time to breath OC clean air, beautiful scenery with birds singing at sunset...

Suggestions :

ABOUT THIS PLACE : The Irvine Ranch Water District San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary comprises more than 300 acres of restored coastal freshwater wetlands. Located in the middle of the bustling city of Irvine, twelve miles of trails serve as an oasis for walkers, joggers, and birdwatchers as well as a living laboratory for students, teachers, and the public.
Within the marsh the San Joaquin Marsh Campus houses the Audubon House, the Duck Club, the IRWD Visitors Center at the Marsh House, the IRWD Learning Center, the Sea and Sage Audubon House and the Caretaker’s House. The Marsh House, a 1920’s era farm house from the original Irvine Ranch, is now home to an interpretive center where visitors can learn about the Marsh, water conservation and environmental protection

DIRECTIONS :

From the San Diego Freeway (405), exit on Jamboree toward Newport Beach. At the 1st signal (which is Michelson), turn left. Continue on Michelson (past the old entrance to the SJWS) to the 5th signal which is Harvard and turn right. Drive to University & turn right. Drive to Campus & turn right. Stay in far right lane and immediately turn right onto Riparian View which will enter the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary

From Pacific Coast Highway (1) , exit on Jamboree and head inland through Newport Beach to Irvine. Turn right on Michelson. Continue on Michelson (past the old entrance to the SJWS) to the 5th signal which is Harvard and turn right. Drive to University & turn right. Drive to Campus & turn right. Stay in far right lane and immediately turn right onto Riparian View which will enter the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary
