Hip Hop Dance Meetup at Red Lounge DC

Red Lounge DC is one of my favorite new spots. Located right off of U Street, this venue is metro accessible and located right in the middle of the U Street Corridor. The upstairs dance floor features urban hip-hop mixed with an occasional reggae beat. The crowd tends to be more of a sophisticated native DC hip-hop crowd with urban moves. This is a 21+ venue.

Where to Meet:

The group will meet outside in front of the red lounge restaurant which is attached to the upstairs venue. I will provide red mardi-gras beads for members of the group so we can identify each other. Also, if you have problems finding the group or question where/who we are you can call me cell # 920-573-0186.

Venue Fee's / Specials:

There will be no entry fee to this venue for our group before midnight. If you arrive late, let the doorman know you are with our group and he will let you in free of charge.

The owner of the venue is featuring a $5 mixed drink special till midnight for our group, in order to get the drink special price you must be wearing the red mardi gras beads which identify you as a group member.

Transportation:

U Street Metro station is less than one block away from this venue. U street is also on multiple bus routes, for detailed trip planning please see www.wmata.com.

Street parking is limited and hard to find, although there are several parking garages located on U Street.

Notes on U Street Corridor:

U Street Corridor is the historic African American Corridor in DC featuring the African American Civil War Museum and Memorial. Famous establishments such as Ben's Chili Bowl are located in this area. This area of DC and the surrounding neighborhoods are a popular tourist destination.

Please note that this venue is in a completely safe area, but please use standard precaution and do not walk or wander this area alone at night.
