April 2015 Hive Contributors Meetup

The activity in Apache Hive has been rapidly rising. We have many new active contributors and a lot of activity going in Hive. It would be great to meet people in person and discuss what people have been working on and what they plan to work on in immediate future. It will help to get a good feel of the vision people have for hive. We can also discuss any challenges faced by contributors, and any ideas to improve things.

We will try to setup a google hangout/webex session as well, so that contributors who are not local can attend (The logistics for that still needs to be figured out).

7:00pm – 7:30pm – Introductions – Brief introduction about yourself and your past work, status of current work and any planned future contributions

Note

The target audience for this event is contributors to hive (as in contributing patches, documentation etc to hive). People who want to become contributors are also welcome! Meetups targeted for hive users would be organized under the hive user meetup.

Parking

When you arrive, drive along the driveway, past the garage, past the Dell building, to the large parking lot. To the far right, along the grass bank, are parking slots reserved for “HW” (Hortonworks). Look for an open “HW” spot and park you car. Or ask the valet in red jacket who will guide you where to park. Tell a valet you're here for a Meetup.
