Are you a published author or an aspiring author?

Published. But aspiring to be published more frequently. I'd love to someday be able to write for a living.

What types of things do you currently write or hope to write?

I enjoy doing zany social projects and writing about the results. Last month I donned a superhero mask and became the Blue Beacon, saving the world on my lunch break. I volunteered for a new non-profit each day and highlighted their causes through my blog, Candid Slice. This month I'm using Candid Slice as a platform for the Moral Monday arrestees. I also write for Liberal America. Sometimes, I still dabble in fiction and dream it will someday pay my bills. But my stories and articles all share one main theme: They are about improving the world and empowering people to make a difference.

What would you like to get from being a member of this group?

I'd like to get more involved in the Triangle's local writer's community. Right now, I'm an island.

How did you hear about this group?

It showed up as a meetup group "I may like," based on other groups I'm in.

Tell us about yourself.

I want to save the world.

I'm a full-time preschool teacher, part-time superhero, and passionate blogtivist. I use writing to exploring social issues and solutions, and offer my blog as a platform for those wanting to make their voices heard and make a difference.
