Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 65th Street and Central Park West in New York City is a congregation whose worship and music life is vibrant and that seeks to serve the needs of the Upper West Side community and beyond. Known internationally for its renderings of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and other great composers of the western tradition, the congregation is also openly welcoming of all people, including those whose identity gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender. A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Holy Trinity is made up of people of all ages and is especially popular with people who are in college and those who have newly found jobs in the city. The Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) is celebrated every Sunday at 11 A.M. Beginning on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at 5 P.M. we will launch the 43rd season of Bach Vespers. Bach's cantatas are rendered in their original context, that is, during worship, on many Sundays of the year by professional singers and instrumentalists.  Check out the schedule at BachVespersnyc.org.  And a great party follows every Vespers liturgy.
