As knowledge and easy access to information increase, people are beginning to doubt the religious dogma and myths that have been passed down for centuries. The number of nonbelievers is growing rapidly. Nonetheless, nonbelievers are still marginalized and sometimes discriminated against in our society, especially here in the Bible belt. The Hot Springs Freethinkers started in September 2010 so that nonbelievers, atheists, agnostics, secularists, humanists, etc. could meet with others of like mind for socialization and meaningful dialogue.

OUR PURPOSE IS: To promote a society that is guided by natural laws and reason rather than the supernatural and superstition.

WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE OUR PURPOSE BY:

• Education/Discussion - at meetings, online, etc.
• Serving as a support group for those recovering from religion
• Socializing with people of like mind
• Educating our local community about freethinkers and their beliefs
• Promoting secular government and society in general
• Community involvement - volunteerism, charitable actions
