Hi everyone - many thanks to the great people who braved the weather and came to our first meetup! I had so much fun talking to the group - it was exactly what I hoped it would be. A great group of people who are ready to do something different besides drowning in their sea of stuff.
It was wonderful that you all so generously shared your stories about your issues with clutter. Thanks for helping to make the group informative and useful to those who came. It is my hope that shared experience will make your journeys easier. I'll do my part and offer advice and ideas on handling your clutter. If you will continue to share with us, I can promise that you will make progress towards living clutter free.
I forgot to mention tonight that all we say should be kept in strict confidence. Please honor your fellow group members with the expectation of privacy about what is shared at our meetups. I will ask for your permission to retell a story if I want to write about your experience in a newsletter or a class, but I will never use your identity regardless. Stories of successes and failures are an inspiration to others, and I know we will create many tales of inspiration as time goes by.
Please feel free to post your thoughts about your experience tonight, and don't forget to ask any questions you have. I'll be watching the board and can answer within a day most of the time.
We'll post the next meetup date in a few days. We decided on the same Thursday night each month, so I'll get that up on the board here asap.
• You’d like to invite the new neighbors over for dinner, but you’ve lost track of the dining room table.
• You bought a birthday card for your favorite niece, but you can’t find it, so you run to the store to buy another...two days late.
• You’re ready to get organized, so you buy $100 worth of filing supplies. Before long, the new office supplies are buried under a couple of weeks’ accumulation of junk mail.
Clutter saps your energy and keeps you from getting what you want. Are you ready to get rid of the clutter in your home or workplace, but you don’t know where to start? Or maybe you’ve made progress, but your decluttering project is stalled?
