I created this group because I believe that being ready for whatever may happen to this city, country or world is just smart. I believe that generally speaking, as a society, we have grown so accustomed to having everything available at the store that we have no idea how we would survive in its absence. We are completely out of touch with how to survive in a non-commercial world, and that makes us vulnerable and short-sighted.

This group is for those who believe that we will be stronger as a community if we have a pre-determined and organized plan to deal with whatever the future has in store for us. Whether you are a conspiracy theorist, hippy, religious fundamentalist, a believer in calamities of 2012 or just think it's a good idea to know how to deal with "worst case scenarios," then join me in bulidng a strong group of like-minded individuals.

This group will be action-oriented. We will not spend a lot of time talking about doom and gloom scenarios, but rather focus on actually getting ready for whatever might come our way with a mindset of community and strength in numbers instead of fear and panic.

Your political and religious and economic views make no difference to me. What does matter, however, is that you bring an open, non-judgmental mind, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to take an active part in this group.

We will use as our main text the Dare to Prepare book by Holly Drennan Deyo.
