Gels in photography... not just for color correction!

Gelling for effect is a common way to spice up your images. Blues, reds, greens, ambers... let's use gels for more than just balancing light. We will host this meetup event at New Trends Studio and provide paid models to give us quality images for our portfolio. Grab the camera, come over to the studio and let's take some awesome images. The event will last for four hours and two paid models will be provided. Eight photographers will be invited for this meetup.  A $30 fee applies for models and the use of studio space.  By hiring models, I hope that we can avoid some of the issues in the past with late cancellations.  Models who are interested can email me at [masked].  RSVP's can be placed with payment through Paypal to [masked] within 7 days of event.

What a terrific course. Donald is patient, with terrific insight and compositional skills. He was helpful, but not intrusive. Just a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely use some of the gelling concepts in the future!

Thanks to Steven for coming out to the shoot and thanks to Michael for coming to a later impromptu gel class! I enjoyed it. Jemma did an amazing job modeling, so thanks goes to her for her time.

I'd really like to do this but I have several things going around that time and I'm not sure I can. I'll keep it in mind and hope there's still a spot left if I can do it.

I am thinking I can do this, but I need a few more days. Hopefully it won't fill up before then. This is a great idea. I rarely use gels and I would like to learn more about them. Thanks Donald.

As a follow up to Carol's questions: I set your "event size" to one person until you know how many you plan to have. I made you the event host so you can edit and announce it as needed. One last thing: I set the "RSVPs Open" date to 15 days before the event ... but you're more than welcome to change it if you need to know a head-count sooner.

Donald, do you want to include instructions for payment, that is how to pay and when payment is due? Also, what is the maximum number of attendees?

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
