Everybody should consider attending the 2012 Houston Salsa Congress on Friday night, January 13th! The venue will be on the west side of town, at the Westin Houston Memorial City hotel.
A "Salsa congress" is typically a weekend full of workshops during the day, followed by nights of dance performances and social dancing. Houston has two major congresses annually -- this Houston Salsa Congress in January and the Texas Salsa Congress held at the Galleria in March.
The full 2012 Houston Salsa Congress will take place from Thursday, January 12th, through Sunday, January 15th. Friday night's event will include several dance performances, with one set of performances starting at 7:30pm, and another set starting around 9:30pm. Afterwards there will be LOTS of social dancing starting around 11:00pm and ending at 4:00am in the morning. Friday will also feature a visiting band from New York City -- "Grupo Latin Vibe." The admission charge for all of Friday night's festivities is $35.
