Business & Beer. Taking the Leap into Entrepreneurship with Rassul Zarinfar
Details
Are you interested in what entrepreneurship is really about? Are you constantly curious about how you can improve in your career? Does your current 9-5 not fully fulfill you? Learn how to become an innovative undertaker.
Innovation can happen anywhere...but I bet you didn’t think you would find it at a Brewery. Come hear how Rassul Zarinfar, Founder of Buffalo Bayou Brewery, took the business model of a high growth tech startup and applied it to his business.
As Rassul puts it, he is an overeducated beer-lover (with degrees from both Rice University and Harvard), and he is constantly building and growing his company. He will tell you how he did it, the challenges that come along with running a fast growing company, and how you can apply these skills to prepare yourself to run a company.
We all have the opportunity to innovate, whether you are in a corporate job, in college or running your own company. Learning from the success and challenges of others is how we grow.
• Walk-ups welcome! You can also pay cash at the door or through our website (http://www.houstontech.org/events/1383/), if you would prefer to not pay through meetup. (Food and Refreshments provided)
About Rassul Zarinfar:
In 2002, Rassul got the brewing bug while earning a degree in English from Rice University and working at a bar on campus. After a number of home-brew batches, his love of beer was sealed and shortly after graduation he accepted a position at Silver Eagle Distributors. After 6 years, he was not only leading sales presentations but internal pricing strategy, reforming fuel efficiency, and making sure that one of the largest beer distributors in the world was able to enter the Houston and San Antonio markets.

After years at a large distributor, Rassul began craving the freedom that a small, artisan brewery could provide. In 2011, he laid the groundwork, after graduating with an MBA from Harvard, he put his English degree to work and began writing a business plan. Today, back in Houston, Texas, Buffalo Bayou Brewery exists only miles away from where Rassul tested out his first home-brew batch. A community and neighborhood staple, Buffalo Bayou Brewery is a testament to beers inspired by the seasons, farmers and the local culture of Texas!
Food and refreshments will be provided
