For about 2 years though I haven't been eating raw for all those 2 years. I've just been trying to incorporate the lifestyle. I'm interested in new recipes that are not loaded with fat even if it is a raw fat. My background is in science so I'm a skeptic when it comes to miracle like claims from any food. I try to practice evidence based nutrition. From my experience, if it really is that beneficial for us, researchers will definitely be writing about it.
My main reason for joining this group is for the social support aspect. Personally speaking, it's hard to keep up a vegan and raw diet when I only have 1 friend who shares my views. So I'm joining to meet like minded individuals :) I'd like to pick up some new recipes from this group, too.
I think I can make it tonight (6/27) and I'll probably just bring a fruit salad my first time :)
I'm Jacob and I've only been in Houston for a 3 years. I go to school in the med center and I've always been a proponent of eating healthy to be healthy. Eating vegan makes sense to me for health and humane reasons but I'm not 100% vegan yet.
