This group is a like a "Deaf Coffee Chat" and signing/interpreting practice in a centrally-located area between Baltimore and Silver Spring/DC. People who are Deafies, hohies, ASL/INT/Deaf Studies students at programs such as Catonsville, Towson, HCCC and AACC, interpreters, those who have friends, spouses or co-workers who are learning ASL, CODAS, and others are all invited to join. We intend to keep the atmosphere friendly, but maintain respect towards the culture and the language. We hope to continue to meet around the 3rd Sat. of every month at Panera Bread on Dobbin Rd., Columbia, starting at noon. Other activities may also be planned.

What members are saying

It is a great way to keep your skills up and learn more. It also helps by being in a deaf environment where you have to use your skills and understand how the deaf community communicates.

You can only learn so much using the internet. You need real people to communicate with to help with your learning.
