Matt Seward - "Can HTML5 reverse the decline of the web?"
About Matt
Matt graduated from Brunel University (BSc Industrial Design) in 1995, during which time he also worked and studied in Italy.
His career began at Apple Computer Europe where he developed web skills producing sites in 9 languages for 12 countries.
Matt left Apple to help build a London based agency, winning contracts with Mattel, Barclays, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Cisco. They were exciting times with projects that really pushed the boundaries of Internet technologies.
Before establishing kilo75 in 2000, Matt worked as an Executive Producer at Ogylvy Interactive, project managing large projects for Nestle and Unilever amongst others.
Today Matt is involved with all aspects of design and development. He loves the process of applying design thinking to all our work, making the Internet work as hard as possible for our clients.
Outside of work Matt is also a trustee of Leeds Housing Concern, a social housing charity in Leeds. Also a member of the LSx Management Team. LSx is the Leeds Web Festival, organising design and technology events all year round.

The Talk
In August last year Wired Magazine declared "The Web is Dead. Long live the Internet" ( http://www.wired.com/magazine/2010/08/ff_webrip/all/1 )
In Matt's talk he'll review some of the innovations in HTML5 that he believes could unlock a new era of creativity in web design. With references to recent projects by kilo75 and others we'll explore some possibilities and limitations of this technology and ask where HTML5 should reside in a modern-day web developers toolkit?
We'll have the normal great chat and networking before and after the speakers. The talks will be commencing at 7pm.
See you there!
John
