September Developer meetup - Fun with Sharepoint

Hot on the heels of our August Developer meetup, I'm very pleased to announce the September Meetup, which will be a Sharepoint themed evening. Thanks very much to both Steve Bowman and Simon Hudson for offering to speak.

Getting to grips with SharePoint

In this talk we will explore what is this SharePoint thing, why would you want it, who might use it and for what purpose. We will explore what is in the SharePoint bag from both a business and technical point of view, dispel some myths, identify some dangers and show you what it can be. We are very likely to engage in some awkward audience participation.

Steve is an experienced software developer with over 12 years commercial development experience. He has led development teams working for multinational clients in a range of industries including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Life Sciences and Fast Moving Consumer Goods. He is very passionate about software quality and helping development teams improve their software development practices.

About Simon

Simon Hudson is an entrepreneur and health sector specialist. He formed Cloud2 in 2008 following a rich career in the international medical device industry and the IT industry. Simon’s background encompasses quality assurance, medical device development, international training, business intelligence and international marketing and health related information and technology.

Simon is passionate about rather too many things, including science, music (he plays guitar with his own band, Fiction, and has recently started playing an Octave Mandola), skiing, classic cars, the health sector, technology and, by no means least, his family.
