All children are welcome to join in the creative fun! Supervised program for the kids while you attend Sunday Speaker Meetings (2 Sundays per month)!
What is Odyssey of the Mind?
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
Message from our OOTM coach Brian Calaway:
It is time for the HSGP Odyssey of the Mind team (1st Place Champions at the 2013 Central Arizona Regional Tournament and 2nd Place Champions at the 2013 State Tournament) to start meeting to work on this year's problem solutions. The regional tournament is March 8 at Scottsdale Community College, so put that on your calendars. We will meet on Speaker Sundays (2 Sundays per month) at the Humanist Community Center from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. If additional time is needed to work on the problems, we can stay past 11:30.
Cost per student is the same as last year, $110. They had a great time last season!
Looking forward to seeing everyone and for students to continue developing into even more creative problem solvers and team members this year.
