We often don’t realize how much our happiness depends on the dialogical quality of our lives. What does this mean? It’s not just talking. The word dialogue consists of two parts: ‘dia’, meaning across, and ‘logue’, from the ancient Greek philosophical word ‘logos’, meaning reason, logic, the controlling principle in the universe and the divine wisdom reflected in the creation and redemption of the world.

For those working in the arts and sciences, leading the dialogical life may be complex and challenging. In interpersonal relations, however, it is typically light and spontaneous.

This Meetup discussion will focus on how this sublime concept applies to our everyday, practical reality. We will explore how the practice of effective dialogue can be a source of human happiness.

Come participate and gain good feelings and new insights, while making new friends.

Joseph B. David will introduce our discussion. He knew the famous philosopher Martin Buber personally, and was deeply influenced by Buber’s groundbreaking concept of I-Thou dialogical relating. As a Humanist Counselor and Leader, Joe has conducted hundreds of interactive groups in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.

Don’t miss this unique, personally meaningful Meetup.
