Humanists of Idaho Pages

The primary purposes of Humanists of Idaho is to:

1. Create a sense of community based upon common interests and a need for a secular alternative to traditional religious community, including non-religious pastoral services such as weddings and funerals.
2. To present a positive influence in the broader community in which we live and work.
3. Educate the public on the principles of Humanism and Humanist Philosophy while dispelling myths about Humanism often promoted by fundamentalist religions.
4. Enlighten the public sector on the values, goals, and benefits of global Humanism

Humanism, by definition, is a rational and naturalistic philosophy, informed by science, inspired by art, and motivated by compassion. Humanism affirms the dignity of each human being and supports individual liberty consonant with social and planetary responsibility. Humanism advocates participatory democracy, the open society, human rights, environmental responsibility, and social justice.

Visit us at, and tune in to our weekly show, "Humanist Perspective", Tuesday night at 6:30 and again at 8 Am Wenesdays, on TVCTV, cable channel 11.
