Now that we are all a little bit maturer and better looking, its time to update our profile pictures again at the HBN Portrait photos and networking event. Organised by Chris Thomas. The studio is booked and, based on our last photoshoot, promises to be a fun event.
You come along and for £10 have your picture taken during the relaxed networking with other HBNers and visitors. The photos will be edited and e-mailed to you after the event. RSVP IS ESSENTIAL, many thanks.
A highly modified answer to an e-mail query that responded to today:
"Good Morning, Lovely to hear from you !
You asked about the photoshoot – of course your friend/colleague is welcome! Like any HBN Event, it is open to all. It also gives you the opportunity to have some shots together.
Whilst most pictures will be head and shoulders for profile pictures, your imagination is the limit – if you have a banner, bring it. Your brochure or leaflet to show others in a photo? Bring it.
Last time we also tried some group shots to help promote individual businesses.
Photoshopping? You won’t need it because:
A. You look great and with friends around, my aim is to show the approachable and personable woman/man/Klingon you are – and the same for the other HBNers.
B. We will be using a wide (2m) flash which is brilliant for portraits, smoothing skin and bringing out eyes and their highlights.
C. The studio is frequently used for model shoots – so there is the facility to get changed, make up and check yourself out before the photos. Do bring your own hairbrush or comb and your own make up if you wish Mervyn. (That's a joke, by the way, Mervyn is of course handsome in the raw - Oh dear, I'm digging myself a hole!)
Photos will be taken with a white background, so simply wear what you feel suits you best.
Above all, come for photos in a safe environment. I will take a number of shots and will choose the best. You get to see them and can select the ones you like. You get to choose whether others can see them.
Even in the unlikely event that you do not want or use any of the photos taken – this is a great chance to see what happens in a large photostudio and it may fire your imagination about what you could do in future, for example with props.
Unfortunately we will not be using a wind machine, so regretfully I personally won't be trying out a diaphanous gown and long haired wig for the occasion."
Humour aside, I look forward to seeing you at the event in March.
Best wishes,
Chris
