RESCHEDULED - Mastering your technique in Joshua Tree N.P.

When: Sunday, February 28,[masked]:00 AM

Price: $75.00 per person

Joshua Tree National Park
Twentynine Palms, CA 92252

RESCHEDULED - I have had to move this Meetup back by one week. The new date is Sunday, Feb. 28th.

Come spend a day in Joshua Tree National Park.

This is an instructional workshop combined with ample time to practice the techniques discussed and photograph together.

Topics covered include but are not limited to:
1. Mastering your exposure - learning to love the histogram
2. Jpeg or RAW and why.
3. Compositional elements for dynamic landscape images
4. Lens choice and depth-of-field
5. Filters, Polarizer and/or Photoshop
6. Using your flash in the landscape
7. All your questions will be answered and I will be "on call" to assist you as you photograph
8. And more

Special added bonus!

The large format 4x5 camera in the landscape.

The view camera has always been and still is the camera of choice for most of the prominent fine art landscape photographers. It is very popular for black and white, color as well as digital. Simply put, the creative and compositional controls available cannot be achieved with any other cameras and the detailed images are awesome. I have used (and taught) the large format camera, both 4x5 and 8x10 for over forty years. I still love the large negative. I will be demonstrating this approach in photography and allowing the group to look through the camera and even expose a b;ack and white negative or two. I will process the film for you and deliver your negatives at out next Meetup. You can then have them printed or scanned. Come see what all the fuss is about!

We will meet at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center near Twentynine Palms, 10am. We will have a great day together learning and photographing past sunset. Then for those that are interested we will grab dinner together.

You will return home with your photographic adrenaline pumping and a new excitement for your landscape photography.

Carpooling can be arranged, just ask me.

The workshop fee of $75 can be paid when you RSVP (preferred) or when you arrive. Please keep in mind that there is a limit on the number of attendees so it is best to RSVP in advance. Note that I have also offered this Meetup to the members of my Landscape Meetup group so we might fill up fast.

Note: There is a $15 entrance fee per vehicle (not per person). We will meet at the visiter center and then if you wish we can carpool in together to pool that fee. Other fee options are available and the information is on the site.
