Welcome to Hyderabad Bicycling Club!

We are happy that you have found us, and hope you will join us.

Who are we? We are a bunch of guys and girls, who have grouped together because of our love to bicycle. We enjoy group riding so that we can meet people, network, and have fun. Our members come from different parts of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
We host organized rides each Wed and Saturday morning and plan occasional multi-day trips throughout the year in different parts of India. Some members are training to participate in special tours and race events. All levels of riding are welcome.

If you are still reading, there might be some obstacles to your joining;

• "I don’t have a bicycle": See our page about getting a bicycle
  
• "I don’t know how to get my bicycle to the meeting place": see the video we created on how to put your bicycle into your car
  Consider a rickshaw, taxi, or carpool if you don’t have a car
  
• "My bike needs maintenance": Attend one of our bike repair sessions
  
• I am afraid to go on Hyderabad roads: See the Bicycle Safety tips, and come by car to the meeting place, we usually ride on very quiet roads with very little traffic.
  
• "I still don’t get it": Attend one of our movie screenings and discover what it is all about.

Costs
You are welcome to join free of charge. We do have some costs for maintaining this site, so if you are serious about it, you can pay Rps. 500 per half a year (send a mail to Shay for arranging this). Being a paying member will you will get any perks from sponsors etc.

Long-term group goals:
* Promote cycling as an environmental friendly commuting option
* Increase the awareness of cycling as a sport, by:
* Exposing it to a wider audience
* Increasing the knowledge about cycling using movies, courses and training sessions
* Creating events around cycling for amateurs and families
* Create marked trails and improve existing ones
* Use cycling as a venue for supporting the community by hosting charity rides to raise money, riding to villages to increase their awareness of sports, and volunteering as a group to support villages and schools.

We are looking for press coverage, in order to increase the awareness of cycling.
