As another Animesh (:)) has rightly pointed out, no need to worry at all about the YHAI treks. I did the Sarpass trek with them which was a first for me..At the end, only one feeling: very well managed!
Just carry the items as instructed on their website and use your common-sense while buying stuff suitable for the climate..
Everything else (including the bikes, accomodation, food and acclimatisation to the climate) is taken care off by them..

Happy journey to both of you

Ram,

I have been to a mountain ride in Himachal with YHAI back in summer of 2009. That ride was from Aut to Jalori pass and back. It was a beautiful ride that goes through the rural ares of Kullu district - something that the honeymooners never see :)

The ride was relaxed and there's no reason an amateur cannot do it. In fact, there were many in our group who were have not ridden since their school/college days. YHAI camps were basic but took care of the basic staying needs. We didnt ride a lot each and had plenty of time to explore the local areas of the camp. Food at the camp was healthy, tasty, homely and vegetarian. Smoking and drinking will not be allowed on the trip.

One of my friends did an all women's Manali-Leh ride with YHAI a couple of years ago. She was also a beginner rider. I can get some more details from her and post here.

For our ride, they gave us Firefox Target, but my friend got a Trek (either 3700 or 4300) from YHAI for the Manali-Leh ride.
cheers,
