"Gaming The Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)"

Details

Professor Emin Gün Sirer, Cornell University Computer Science, and co-Director of the Initiative for Cryptocurrencies & Contracts (IC3), will outline "Gaming The Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)".

The DAO is a "smart contract", a computer program that operates as a crowd-funded, crowd-managed investment fund that commands $150 million. It enables users to tap into the "wisdom of the crowds" by picking investment opportunities. Built upon the Ethereum blockchain, The DAO is the largest crowdfunding project in history, and the first and most visible of a new class of smart contracts, capable of spending money. This talk will discuss specific attacks against The DAO, with lessons for smart contract construction.
