PLEASE NOTE: The tour will now take place at 6.30pm on WEDNESDAY MAY 21st, and MEETING POINT is in front of the LIVERPOOL STREET exit of Liverpool Street Station.
The East End is a vibrant place, home to many people from all over the world and packed with history, the streets and buildings all having stories to tell. From the Huguenots to the Bengalis the area has been the destination of choice for waves of immigration over the years which have helped shaped this area's unique character.
It’s also the creative and cultural hub of London with the area being a world epicentre for high quality street art. There are galleries all over the place and historically the area was one of the places to be in Shakespearean London.
This walking tour will take you around some of the streets of the East End and the aim of the walk is to give a flavour of the history and culture of the area, incorporating as much as we can to give a wide a picture as possible of the culture and history of the area.
The tour will be run by my friend Stuart Holdsworth, who runs the incredibly successful London blog Inspiring City. An expert in the history of the area, Stuart will be telling us fascinating stories and we'll also be looking at some street art together, before we finish off with a drink at the pub.
Meeting point: Liverpool Street exit of Liverpool Street Station.
