HDR (High Dynamic Range) Workshop with tripods at Grand Central

Come and photograph the majestic Grand Central terminal -- capture all of the details in the shadows and highlights with HDR photography! We have special permission to use tripods during this five hour workshop. We have led workshops to photograph the Grand Central terminal with tripods more than a dozen times.

We will meet at 10:30 am at GCT and shoot from 11am until 5 pm. Some people do not have the stamina for a five hour shoot, there are seats in the food court downstairs and seats in the station master's office where you can rest, or you may leave early (just turn in your permit before leaving)

Meet outside of the station master's office, there is an area to the left of the SMO. The SMO is the customer waiting area with the glass doors on the upper level of the terminal, at the top and just to the right of the escalators on the west side of the building (near tracks 34/35 and the Transit Museum store.

You will be taking 3-10 exposures in order to capture all of the details in the shadows and highlights. Tom and I will be helping you with compositions, checking exposures, etc. For the first hour we are very hands on helping you with your camera settings, interpreting histograms, etc.

After the first hour we will be shooting too, but will aid you with compositions, answer questions, check in on your exposures, etc.

Experienced photographers can utilize us for as little or as much assistance as desired. for many of our participants getting the inside scoop on locations and compositions and getting access and being able to use a tripod is reason enough to come with us! We will get you up to speed because we have been there with tripods so many times we know some great compositions!
