Join Tom and Lisa for photo experience at Pennhurst Asylum! 11-3

Join us at Pennhurst (aka “The Eastern Pennsylvania Institution for the Feeble minded and Epileptic” aka “Pennhurst State School”) for an afternoon of HDR and light painting inside Devon and inside Mayflower. Be at the Gate by 10:30am as we want everyone there, releases signed and in on time to start shooting as soon as possible.

Small Group.

Tom and I will be available to offer advice and suggestions on exposure, settings, etc. Some people come because they want access to the location, others want compositional assistance, advice, feedback, and others may want to work on a photographic particular technique.

If you are new to HDR email us and Tom and I can meet you at 10am and go over your camera with you.

Bring your tripod and cable release. Optional: Bring a gelled flashlight for light painting.

“The Eastern Pennsylvania Institution for the Feeble minded and Epileptic” later named “Pennhurst State School” was Created by Legislative act in 1903. Pennhurst’s opened in 1908 and its first patient was received on November 23,1908. Pennhurst was created for the purpose of separating the mentally “deficient”, mentally handicapped, physically handicapped and epileptic from society. The huge 1400 acre campus included close to a hundred structures. Stately brick structures adorned the main campus connected by tunnels. Patients were sent here by society because they were regarded as a scourge or a disease. For close to century 10,000 patients came through Pennhurst until it closed in 1987."
