We are a cooperative of Muslim Homeschoolers located in Northern New Jersey. We get together on a regular basis for mom-taught classes for the kids, field trips, playdates, mom's night out and Eid/family gatherings.

Growing organic fruits and vegetables requires some necessary steps.  One must find the right soil, avoid synthetic products and focus on prevention of pest and disease problems. Organic gardening replenishes the resources as it makes use of them. This results in healthier and sweeter products, and the bigger picture of involving ourselves to cooperate with nature.

We have digested this concept and applied it to our children as to understand the required elements they need to mature into successful and thriving human beings.  We are mindful of their specific needs, providing them fresh air, food for thought and plenty of space to grow. We cultivate a natural, hospitable environment to avoid societal mainstream habits and encourage them to develop and maintain their genuine selves.

The idea is to create independent evolved children through practical measures of working through what they gather from their daily life and using that to make them the best they can be. Simple things like helping with chores around the house, playing sports or the use of any instrument is taken into consideration and used as social science to develop their liking towards a particular career or accredited as an academic learning. Children have time in their day to explore the outside world and pursue what interests them, feeding their enthusiasm for living and learning.

Join us to see what talents your child has and how we can help them succeed!

Group Policy

To join, we ask that you fit into one of these two categories:

1. You are currently homeschooling your child or children
2. Your children are not in school and you are SERIOUSLY intending to homeschool them

**If you do not fit into one of these two categories, but would like to find out more about homeschooling or be a guest at one of our meetups to see what our group does, please email the group organizer and we would be more than happy to help you!

Group Guidelines

1. Dues are $24 a year. They are due on January 1st of each year. If you join the group mid-year, you prorate yourself by subtracting $2 per month for the months you were not in the group. You can pay dues in person to an organizer or contact us for one of our addresses if you would like to mail a check. The dues cover our two websites- meetup.com and www.ilmnj.org. Any extras are saved in case a cost arises for our group.

2. If you would like to bring a friend to see what we do at the meetups or learn about homeschooling, please let an organizer know in advance or write a note in your RSVP. We want to make sure we know who is who and have enough materials on hand.

3. Please use discretion when bringing children to the classes. If your child is too young to enjoy/be interested in the class, please wait until they are ready before bringing them. It can be distracting to the other children and the teacher if they are not of appropriate age. Alternatively, you can still bring them to field trips or playdates instead. (If you have older children who attend the class, it is fine to bring their younger siblings along.)
