Welcome to the Game Book Book Club, where we study game development books together, discuss them, and challenge ourselves to broaden our abilities and knowledge! We will also have a small short non-digital game jam afterwards to apply some of our ideas, have fun, and help discuss game design elements.

The book that we are going to read for our first series is the book Characteristics Of Games by George Skaff Elias, Richard Garfield, and K. Robert Gutschera, which retails for around $25. The game jam itself is based on a different book which is not required for participation.

Note on Location:

The meetup will happen at the picnic tables on the grass off to the right a few hundred feet after you enter Griffith Park via Canyon. The address on the meetup doesn't point you to the exact spot but the tables are hard to miss once you enter the park.

Bringing a picnic is highly encouraged.
