What types of games do you like to make? What type do you play if any?

Most of the candidates for my upcoming series of games pay homage to classic science fiction. Most (if not all) will be multiplayer games with single-player options. Gameplay genres include arcade action, turn-based strategy, and adventure/RPG.

Do you make games full time or part time?

Just part time. I decided long ago to avoid the full-time gig because I don't want to be constrained by things like deadlines, market pressures, finances, HR issues, and so on. I'd rather just do things my way and not worry about what sells.

What skills do you have pertaining to game development? (Programming languages, artistic talents, animation, game design, etc...)

I have two decades of programming experience, and in recent years I've become more involved in the art side of things with Photoshop and 3ds Max. Java is my technology of choice, essentially forsaking all others when I have a say in the matter.

If you are not making or playing a game, what do you do with your time? What other hobbies or activites do you particapate in?

Bicycling, writing and playing music, watching TV and movies, participating in my wife's travel meetup group, attending graduate school, taking long walks, spending time with my pets, assisting with several work-related events, surfing the web...

I'm an independent developer currently working on a series of multiplayer games powered by my own home-grown game engine. I am inspired by the creativity, talent, and passion of my fellow game developers and love to share experiences and ideas.
