The Empire State now has an emperor, who would banish all New Yorkers from his kingdom who disagree with his political viewpoints. Governor Cuomo delivered a message Friday to politically conservative New Yorkers telling them they have no place in New York State:

“Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

~Emperor Cuomo

In view of this outrageous assault on our freedom of expression and conscience, a broad coalition of concerned New Yorkers will hold a press conference on the steps of Queens Borough Hall Tuesday at noon to protest Governor Cuomo’s offensive decree. We insist that Governor Cuomo immediately retract his statement and issue a formal apology to his constituent New Yorkers whose religious beliefs and political viewpoints he has just condemned. Democrats, Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives need to stand together in a bipartisan coalition since our individual liberties are under siege. If a sitting governor told pro-choice New Yorkers to leave the state we should likewise all stand together in protest.

Reasonable people can agree or disagree, but it is an intolerable abuse of power for the governor of New York State to discriminate against those with whom he disagrees. Fascist or totalitarian states issue such directives to crush opposing political expression. This is anathema to a Democratic society founded on the principle that we are all “created equal” with basic freedoms protected by public officials and governors swearing to uphold the United States Constitution which guarantees our rights.

Cuomo abused his office and demonized millions of New Yorkers who call themselves pro-life which includes 35% of New York Democrats according to Chiaroscuro Foundation. He opened this Pandora’s Box in conjunction with National Sanctity of Life Sunday, which was observed Sunday January 19, where millions of New Yorkers who uphold the sanctity of life commemorated the 41st anniversary of Roe V Wade legalizing abortion in our country and the 55 million babies which have been legally aborted since then.

Cuomo attempted as well to crush the protected political expression of fellow New Yorkers who support traditional marriage, the right to bear arms and are pro-life. A broad coalition is now forming composed of New Yorkers of all political persuasions and those who value our freedom of expression. At this time speakers and representative organizations include: Conservative Party of Queens, The Rockville Centre Tea Party Patriots, Queens Village Republican Club, Rockaway Republicans, Councilmember Eric Ulrich, Congressional Candidate Frank Scaturro, Bob Friedrich, president of the Glen Oaks Village Coop, Joseph Concannon, NYPD Captain (Ret.), Dennis Saffran, City Council Candidate, Northeast Queens Tea Party Patriots, Conservative Society for Action. Others will be announced as they are confirmed.
