This week’s Hot Topic letter
Dear Members,
As many of you already know, we have established a “Media and Communications” committee. One of the goals of this committee is to choose one timely and important topic every week, and then launch a mass letter-writing response from our members to the appropriate newspapers and political figures to make them aware of our position.
The process is very simple. Every week you will receive an e-mail containing a letter written by our committee with that particular week’s ‘Hot Topic’.
There will be a Word Document attached to every e-mail containing a pre-written and approved letter. If you would like to participate in that weeks campaign you simply print out that letter and mail it to one of the newspaper or political recipients listed below. Feel free to mail the letter as is, edit it as you see fit, or write one of your own.
The only additions you will need to make to our pre-printed letter is a salutation, and then adding your name and address at the end.
We will always provide complete addresses of major newspapers and politicians on the bottom of every weekly Hot Topic letter so that you can mail, or e-mail your letter to one or more of them.
This week’s Hot Topic letter is attached to this e-mail. Mail it to Senator Dean Skelos. Let’s flood the mailboxes of our politicians and newspaper editors. We can no longer afford to stay silent. Let’s make our voices heard!

This week’s hot topic:  Dean Skelos’ anti-conservative policies.
The reason for our letters:   Dean Skelos has betrayed the electorate again.
What is the message we want to send:  Dean Skelos, much to the dismay of the Conservatives, brought to the floor of the New York Senate the Gay Marriage Bill.  By doing this, he denied opponents the opportunity to testify and broke his word to supporters of traditional marriage.
More than half the country opposes Obamacare.  Governor Cuomo issued an executive order for New York State to set up exchanges which are government bureaucracies through which millions of Americans will be compelled to purchase Obamacare.  It is the foundation of the healthcare mandate.
Without these exchanges, Obamacare cannot be implemented.  Senator Skelos has no intentions of challenging this.
Please include your name and address on the letter.

Dear Senator Skelos:
The people of Long Island have supported you throughout the years because we felt that you had our best interests at heart.  However, over the past year or so, we find this has not been so.
Your recent actions regarding support of the Gay Marriage Bill and failure to challenge Governor Cuomo’s executive order for the establishment of health insurance exchanges are two issues I take exception with.  These exchanges would ultimately pave the way for the implementation of Obamacare in New York State.
I no longer feel you are representing me or the people of Long Island.  I will no longer be able to support you or your platform in the upcoming election.  You are a big disappointment to me.
