Hi all! In order to answer a few questions that I've received, I thought I'd send another group message.
With regards to subject matter: Kids and kid interest. I don't mean this to be hugely confining. I see two main "categories"--portraits and nonportraits. Those interested in submitting portraits may wish to do so as not-for-sale items in hopes to generate interest in your personal portrait work. In the area of non portrait I'm looking for things like (but not limited to) animals, flowers, state fair, hot air balloons, party balloons, carousels, kids' toys or equiptment like bikes, sports gear, etc. This is really pretty broad. Basically ask yourself, "Would it interest a kid and/or is it very colorful?"
Size and quantity: We will have a 10'x10' booth space so I'd probably say most any size you'd like to show up to about 16x20ish would probably work. (I'm pretty flexible as long as we don't have, say, 238 of that size ;-) We will have a table and can bring a container for matted prints if you like. We may take a couple of easels. What I would REALLY like is if someone can help locate some metal grid-like panels (to borrow or buy) that can be hung around the sides of the tent. That would enable us to maximize space and hang more framed or mounted prints.
Location and time: Rocky Ripple is near Butler in the northwest-ish quadrant of Indy. The fair (Sat Sept 29) is 10am-6pm ish. Set up and tear down before and after.
It is not necessary to attend in order to show your photography, but greatly appreciated.
Hope that encourages some of you to show pieces that otherwise may not have.
Feel free to keep the questions coming, and I'll try to keep the info coming :-)
