Membership Dues…  Going up to $30 effective March 1, 2013


We’re implementing a new “Membership Dues” structure effective immediately.

Dues will increase to $30, effective March 1, 2013.

Everyone who is currently paid up, or, if they pay up between now and March 1, their dues will be $20; and they are paid up until March 1, 2014.  You must be considered paid up by 12 midnight, February 28, to get the $20 rate.

On March 1, 2013, dues will become $30 per year. All dues from that point forward will be due on March 1st of every year.

Benefits of paid membership:

·        Club sponsored PHOTO SHOOTS

·        In-depth Education Seminars

·        Club sponsored GALLERY SHOWS

·        Photographer community discussions

·        Website to display images

·        Wide gamut of experienced and inexperienced photographers to bounce ideas off of

·        Professionals in the industry featured as regular presenters at meetings

·        Social events such as picnics and dinners centered around other photo-related events.

Club expenses (just some…)

·        Organizer’s monthly cost to maintain the Meetup site is $19. 

·        Cost of having a meeting at the Carriage House or Propylaeum is $1/person/meeting.  If there are 28 people present, the cost is $28.   For 2 meetings/month with 20 – 25 people at each meeting...that is an expense of $40 – 50/month.

·        Equipment needed in meetings:  projector, laptop, screen, etc. 

·        Business cards, club flyers, printer, various equipment for some focus groups….  Example:  Portraiture Focus Group equipment, even a used organ bench cost $7(not factored in....gas and time to go get it).

·        Food and refreshments for some of the events and special socials.




1.      Q:  I paid my dues September 1, 2012. 

A:  You are paid up since September 1, 2013, has not rolled around yet.  Your dues will come due March 1, 2014.


2.      Q:  I paid 2 weeks ago, January 5, 2013. 

A:  You are paid up since January 5, 2014 has not rolled around yet.  Your dues will come due March 1, 2014.


3.      Q:  I paid my dues February 1, 2012.  

A:  You are current now, but won’t be come March 1, 2013.  You have between now and March 1 to pay up at $20.  If you wait until March 2, the rate is $30. 


4.      Q:  I paid my dues January 15, 2012. 

A:  Your dues are due now, actually over by a week.  You are past due.  You have until March 1, 2013 to get in at the $20 rate.
