Indy DevOps -- Saltstack at KAR Auctions

This month’s meetup will feature special presentations from Saltstack and our locally based KAR Auction Services.

Salt is a Python-based open source and enterprise solution making remote event driven execution, orchestration and automation a reality. Nate Brooks from Saltstack’s System Engineering Team will be presenting the content.

KAR Auction Services, Inc. is a technology driven, Indiana headquartered, National provider of vehicle auction services. The Company operates in three reportable business segments: ADESA, Inc., Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc., and Automotive Finance Corporation.

Part One: Saltstack 101. Discussion and architecture driving Saltstack’s platform.

Part Two: Brad Thurber a consultant with Perficient at KAR Auction Services will share GIT/Salt integration best practices and discuss strategies to expand the use of Salt starting at the Platform level and continuing up/down the stack.

Part Three: Demo: How to integrate ChatOps environments to Salt’s orchestration and event reaction system. Examples will be geared towards Datadog, Twilio, Slack.
