I have been writing (not as a career) for as long as I can remember. It started as a hobby and has become more of an obsession. Lately, It has appeared in the form of blogging and short stories. http://www.donsedberry.com. I am in the process of working through an idea for a novel as well as experimenting with other styles of writing.
Rainer Marie Rilke, Charles Dickens, Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and the countless other authors' books that have happened their ways into my hands. I am quite sure that I steal from the sum of my experiences.
If nothing more than exercising the ability and expanding beyond the limits of my own mind.
I've only been in Indianapolis a little over a year now. I came to a realization that writing was more important to me than Informatics. I've been trying to hold true to that ever since.
Indy WordLab is a fascinating concept. It's difficult to expand beyond your comfort zones and meet new people. As I walked into the room, I looked around and noticed all the classic writers none of whom were talking to anyone they didn't know. By the end of the night and our sharing, we were all good friends. I'm excited to be a part of it. I believe this will be beneficial to everyone who attends.
