A FREE POETIC OPEN MIC, with free food and a cash bar. Scottsdale Public Art is hosting this event to showcase the unveiling of their new temporary installation of "Why Should I Be Sad?"
This beautiful piece of art by local artist Melissa Martinez evokes reflection brought on by rainy days—feelings of overwhelming sadness, thunderous resonances, provocation of imagination in the shapes and movements of clouds, life cycles of sun and rain, and the possibilities of renewal. This is a LOOSELY themed open mic. Meaning, Poems along topic to the above description of desired, BUT NOT LIMITED TOO!! IF YOU DON'T HAVE A POEM THAT FITS THE THEME PLEASE COME AND READ IT ANYWAYS!!! We'd rather hear your work, your thoughts, and your creativity regardless :)
