PCT to deep creek

where: deep creek hot springs via the PCT from hwy 173

when: jan 14th at 8:00 a.m.

distance: 12.5 miles round trip

time: 6-8 hrs

what to bring: plenty of water, lunch, good running shoes or hiking boots, mole skin, extra socks, dress in layers, towel and swim suit, head lamp.

carpool: we will meet in the mc donalds parking lot at the offramp of hwy 138 and the 15 fwy at 7 a.m. and leave for the trailhead at 7:15 exactly (please be early) trail head is located where hwy 173 ends comming from hwy 138 and silverwood lake area it's, best just to meetup and carpool

plan: meet at carpool spot then drive to trailhead, we'll head south on the pacific crest trail for about 6.2 miles to deep creek hot spring. There we will break for lunch and a quick soak in the hot pools. and then head back there are 5 man made hot pools there ranging from 89 to 120 degree's. please note that this is a clothing optional area there may be naked old guys (sorry phil your not old)http://img2.meetupstatic.com/981263258369601089/img/smileys/smile.gif

please know your limits, if you have never hiked 12 miles on un-even ground, if you cannot hike at a 2.5 to 3 mile an hour pace with a back pack and 10 to 15 lbs of weight, if you are not in shape or may hold the group back, this hike may not be for you.
