Mt Baldy (8.4 miles/3900')

Passes can be purchased from any Big 5 and lots of other places. They're $5 for a day pass and $30 for an annual pass.

We'll start from Manker Flat and head up past the gate on Falls Road. The Ski Hut trail starts about 1/2 mile up the road. We'll take a break at the ski hut and wherever else we feel the need.

Destination: Mt. Baldy summit! (10,068')
When: 7:30am, Sunday, 1/22

Difficulty: . Maybe a 7? One persons walk in the park is another's Denali. Regardless, this should definitely be considered a strenuous hike. it is not for beginers or out of shape hikers
Pace: Moderate (2-mph up, 3-mph down)
Time: Depends on a variety of factors. Figure 6 hours to be safe.
What to bring: your smile, water (2+ liters), food, jacket, any other 10-12 essentials you feel compelled to bring. My rule of thumb is "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it".

where to meet: we will meet up in the parking lot at graziano's italian resturaunt on mountain ave at 7 a.m. and carpool up to the trail head. please be there on time we head up to the trail head at 7:15 and start the hike by 8

if it snows rent some snow shoes from sport challet and we'll take the road up to the ski lodge at the top of the ski lift and grab some beer and nacho's
