camping trip
Details
well after all the fun we had at NW campcon. thought we could do our own little camping trip. most of us have been camping before so im sure we all know what to bring. everyone is on their own for food. bring some water and stuff to drink. I have a small grill ppl can use to cook food on. I will have a few balls with me and a game thing as well. cards against humanity and some playing cards. being that we will be close to a lake we can do some fishing as well. plan is to go camping for 3-4 day. we will meet up Friday the 29th and camp tell monday the 1st.
DIRECTIONS TO THE CAMP:
Take exit 254 off I-90, head east-ish (if you're coming from Spokane, this is a left turn, crossing the interstate). The road will bend south. Just as you get to the hill with the radio towers on it, turn Left onto Lake Valley Loop Rd. (This is a dirt road, well graded.) Stay on this road until it crosses the railroad tracks, then continue forward. There will be a parking area here with a BLM message board, and an open gate. Drive through the open gate (more dirt road, less well-maintained). This road will head east then south and wind around a bit before descending to the Hog Lake Recreation Area. We will be camped BEFORE you get to the lake itself.
There is a pit toilet at the lake, which won't be a long walk from where we are camped.
Bring EVERYTHING you need -- food, water, tent, daytime shelter, sunscreen, bug repellant, toys, gizmos, glowsticks, whatever.
There are NO FIRES allowed at all in the state of WA at this time. As the person at the BLM told me, "if you can turn off the flame, it's okay to use", so propane grills etc are fine. Charcoal is not.
If you're a map-oriented person, here is the detail of map you need:

We will be camped between the second and third parking areas ("P") along that red-outlined road.
Sprague is a short distance away, it has a small grocery and liquor store. Cheney is a bit further away, it has three grocery stores and liquor stores and such.
Hog Lake is a beautiful lake, in its own little basalt canyon, apparently with a waterfall up at the north end. It should make for a lovely setting for our campout.
