Topic: Grit - What It Takes To Be A Successful Entrepreneur

There may be no single, indispensable element of entrepreneurial success, but one thing is pretty darn close: Grit. Through our experience as entrepreneurs building our company Sellbrite over the last few years, we know this to be true. A blend of passion and perseverance has helped us overcome numerous obstacles along the way, and while our company is still young and growing, we would not be where we are today if we didn’t have grit.

Fortunately, grit is a skill that can be developed. We’ll share stories of our struggles in building a company (lack of funding, bad hires, tech disasters, founder fights), and explain how we overcame them with our stick-to-it-ness – and how you can become ‘gritty’ too.

Bio:

Brian Nolan and Michael Ugino are co-founders of Pasadena-based Sellbrite, a SaaS platform that helps retailers build, manage and grow their multichannel ecommerce business. The two met while working together at another company in Pasadena, and instantly became friends. Brian and Mike started Sellbrite after experiencing pain points in doing their jobs at that company, and realized there was a huge opportunity in the market for a simple solution. They found themselves back in Pasadena after being funded and incubated by Idealab. Sellbrite now has a team of 17 people and an office on Green St. in Old Town.
